Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent launched the extended Cessnock City Seniors Festival 2017 that will be held from Friday 3 March to Saturday 18 March 2017.

Councillor Pynsent said is it wonderful the Seniors Festival continues to grow each year giving our community an opportunity to do more together and celebrate seniors.

“It is my absolute pleasure to launch another fantastic program for our Seniors Festival and I invite the community to get involved in the huge range of events we are offering.”

“The variety is brilliant, with sports, arts, learning, history, special interest and social events all a part of the program. Many of our favourite activities from previous years will return but we are also excited to debut some new activities this year,” Cr Pynsent said.

In 2017 we are proud to announce the inclusion of walking basketball and a vintage car display.

Councillor Pynsent emphasised the importance of the Seniors Festival for our older residents.

“Staying active, connected and engaged is so important for everyone’s health and happiness. We are very fortunate in our community that there is so much on offer for our seniors”, Cr Pynsent said.

Why not enjoy the Old Brush visit, discover a new club or group, learn something new, get creative, take a trip down memory lane, try a new sport, spend time with friends and even make new ones.
