Happy National Law Week! National Law Week is
an annual event to promote public understanding of the law and its role in
Cessnock Library invites you to come and hear Katrina Thompson from NSW Fair Trading speak about consumer rights.
Did you know that NSW consumers currently make over one million calls and almost 50, 000 complaints to Fair Trading each year?
If you love shopping, you need to know your
rights. Learn when you are entitled to a refund, what is a major or minor fault
and if you are classed as a consumer. Uncover the pitfalls of shopping on the
internet and how to protected yourself against them and related scams.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said consumers are entitled to know their rights and this workshop will provide locals with invaluable information.
“This is a fantastic way to increase awareness of your rights in day to day purchase of goods and services. It also provides people with an opportunity to meet with NSW Fair Trading staff and discuss any fair trading matters”, Cr Pynsent said.
