Community Notice: Work commencing at Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre
Cessnock City Council and Belgravia Leisure are reminding residents that the Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre will be closed for two weeks to undergo upgrades.
The shutdown will begin on Friday night, as work commences to update a number of facilities at the centre.
Facility managers, Belgravia Leisure, are working with Council to inform members and users about the closure and alternative access.
Members will be notified by email and mail this week. Members will also have access to Cessnock Pool and Lakeside Leisure Centre during specified hours.
Please visit kurrikurriafc.com.au for more details about alternative access.
The community is encouraged to follow the centre on social media at Facebook.com/kurrikurriafc for regular updates, or contact 02 4937 1362 and firstname.lastname@example.org for further enquiries.
The works will include the total refurbishment of the male change room, renewal of carpet, painting and various other maintenance projects.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said it is a fantastic community facility and he looks forward to the completion of the works.
“This community facility provides a lot of enjoyment for all residents and it is great to see these upgrades going head,” Cr Pynsent said.
Cessnock City Council and Belgravia Leisure thanked residents for their patience over the next fortnight.
“The closure of the pools is to ensure the safety of all pool users. We are working with Belgravia Leusire to ensure members will be informed,” Cr Pynsent said.
The Kurri Kurri Aquatic Centre will reopen on Monday April 10.
