Cessnock, it’s time for a chemical cleanout!
A free household chemical
clean out drop off point will be available to residents next Saturday 12 May,
2018 at Cessnock Council Depot.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is encouraging residents to make the most of the free service that will be available from 9am and 3.30pm.
“Please take a look in your cupboards, sheds and other storage areas to see if you have any household chemicals that you no longer need.”
“This is a chance to dispose of chemicals that we can’t accept at our Community Recycling Centre including household cleaners, solvents, garden, pool and hobby chemicals, acids, alkalis and poisons.”
Household quantities up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item are able to be dropped off. Business-related and commercial quantities of chemicals will not be accepted.
For a full list of materials or more information call the Environment Line on 131 555 or visit www.cleanout.com.au. The household chemical cleanout is a NSW EPA waste less, recycle more initiative funded from the Waste Levy.
