Have an idea to bring local heritage to life?
Cessnock City Council is urging residents, community groups and organisations to consider applying for grants offered under the NSW Government’s Heritage Near Me Incentives program.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said a range of grants are available under the program coordinated by the Office of Environment and Heritage.
“Last year Council and the Branxton Greta Business Chamber were lucky enough to secure a grant under this initiative”.
“Once again I encourage residents, organisations and community groups to consider putting in an application “.
“We are fortunate to live and work in one of most heritage rich areas of Australia, Heritage Near Me is all about protecting, sharing and celebrating our local heritage”, Cr Pynsent said.
Owners and managers of local heritage items in particular are urged to consider applying for a grant as there are a number of funding streams available.
The three grant stream opportunities are:
• Heritage Activation Grants
• Heritage Green Energy Grants
• Local Heritage Strategic Projects Grants
