Next week marks the start of National Science Week and we’re celebrating with a visit from the one and only Dino Detective.

On Wednesday 15 August local palaeontologist Michael Dawson is putting on a show and tell for all ages at the Cessnock City Library. Michael has spent a lifetime collecting fossil casts from various museums and collections around the world.

The best part is, it’s FREE and a fascinating all ages show. The talk about dinosaurs will include fossils and cases of well-known species. Michael will also be sharing an insight into their behaviour, how they lived and why they died.   Library Services Coordinator, Rose-marie Walters said it’s great we can celebrate National Science Week with such a unique event.

“Dino Detective is a wonderful opportunity to head to the library and be a part of National Science Week. This week is all about encouraging an interest in science pursuits among the general public, and to encourage younger people to be fascinated by the world we live in."

The show and tell is on from 5pm – 6pm. Call Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 to book your place.
