Do you own Cessnock’s cutest cat or dog?
Cessnock City Council is on the search for the Cessnock Local Government Area’s (LGA) cutest cat or dog and is asking residents to share their best snaps with the community.
The Cutest Pet Competition kicks off on Friday 21 April, on the @CessnockCityCouncil Facebook page, with a great prize pack up for grabs.
If you think your dog or cat has what it takes here is how to enter:
• Like the Cessnock City Council page.
• Send the image of your pet to Cessnock City Council via a Facebook message.
• Provide Council with the name of your pet.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said he looks forward to showing off his mate Krusher.
“Krusher typically wouldn’t be described as cute but he sure is a great mate and can often be found getting up to mischief on the property”, Cr Pynsent said.
On the Friday of each week the entries will be posted in a Facebook album. The community will be asked to vote for the cutest pet by liking the image. Entries to the competition close on 5pm Friday 12 May and ten finalists will be contacted.
All pets entered into the competition must be microchipped and registered in the Cessnock LGA. Owners will be asked to provide details to confirm registration and microchipping by Wednesday 17 May.
Voting will reopen on Friday 19 May for the top ten and the community will decide which pet takes out the title. Council will officially crown the Cessnock’s Cutest Pet on Friday 2 June and will reward your furry friend with a prize pack.

Residents who would like to enter but need to microchip their pet should keep an eye out for details on Cessnock City Council’s FREE microchipping event being held next month.
