The ability to express through writing is a vital skill in today’s world – a child who can both read and write fluently is off to a wonderful start!

In recognition of this, Cessnock Council offers free monthly workshops for children aged 10 to 16. The program looks to build on and enhance the creative writing a child is doing at school, in a fun and informal environment.

The workshops at both libraries start at 4 pm and are held one Monday per month at Cessnock Library and one Tuesday per month at Kurri Kurri Library.

The next session for this term is on Monday August 29 at Cessnock Library and Tuesday August 30 at Kurri Kurri Library.

Participants will be working on creating a community newspaper together. A full program is available on the library website at www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au. For more information phone Karen at Kurri Kurri Library on 02 49371638 or Sandy at Cessnock Library on 02 49934384.
