Cessnock City General Manager Stephen Glen had the pleasure of welcoming Australia’s newest citizens on Friday as MC of the event.

“It was a fantastic ceremony and a very significant day for people receiving their citizenship, choosing to call Australia home”.

“It is an honour to be involved in citizenship ceremonies as they really are a special day for family and friends of the individuals receiving their citizenship’’.

“Once again the Town Crier Stephen Clarke did a wonderful job as the usher of the ceremony and performing the unique Aussie Barbeque song which always gets a good laugh”.

“Mount View High School Student Chloe Brown also did an outstanding job performing Advance Australia Fair and At Last”, Mr Glen said.

The 16 new citizens came from countries including Indonesia, Philippines, Britain, Israel and Vietnam.
