Back to Basics workshop is presented by staff from the Indigenous Services Branch from the State Library of New South Wales and is for people who are new to looking into family history.

The workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and tools to undertake effective research and engage them in their families past.

It will also provide information and advice on the wealth of material available at the State Library of NSW, which is vital for people engaged in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander family history research.

It will provide an overview of:

• Resources and techniques to search the collections and other important resources for Aboriginal family history.
• Significant collections held at the State Library relating to the local area.

The workshop is on Tuesday 11 October 2016 10 am 3pm, at Cessnock City Library. This event is free but bookings are essential.
