Cessnock City residents should start warming their vocal chords as the Carols in the Park is fast approaching, on Friday 1 December 2017 at Cessnock Sportsground.

The FREE event is the perfect way to kick off celebrations for the festive season with markets, music and fireworks.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this is one of his absolute favourite community events.

“It is very heart-warming to see children, young people, family and friends celebrating the festive season together.”

“We are also very lucky to have wonderful entertainment, including Country music star and local Tara Naysmith as MC, and the 14 piece big band Santa’s Little Helpers which is made up of talented musicians from across the Hunter,” Mayor Pynsent said.

The night is also expected to feature a visit from the man himself. Santa will rest his reindeers in the nearby vineyards and enter in style in a helicopter generously provided by Slattery’s Helicopter.

The night will finish with a magical fireworks display, making for a perfect grand finale after a night of festive fun. Residents are encouraged to pack a picnic blanket and picnic to enjoy the evening’s celebrations.

Gates open at 5:30pm, come down, and do some Christmas shopping at the markets before picking the perfect spot to enjoy the entertainment.

The event is proudly sponsored by Newcastle Permanent Building Society, Rover Motors and Cessnock City Council. For more information visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au
