Cessnock City Council is pleased to announce that the hugely popular free mattress drop-off day will take place on Saturday 9 November 2019 from 8am to 12pm.

Cessnock City Council is pleased to announce that the hugely popular free mattress drop-off day will take place on Saturday 9 November 2019 from 8am to 12pm.

The mattress drop-off will take place at the Council Works Depot carpark at 2082 Old Maitland Rd, Cessnock where residents can dispose of up to four mattresses or bases, completely free of charge.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is encouraging local residents to come along and take advantage of this spring cleaning opportunity.

“This event is so popular in our community each year and the best part is, following the drop-off, the mattresses and bases will be sent away where 75% of the materials will be recycled, which is just fantastic.”

This event is for Cessnock City Council residents only and proof of address is required. Mattress drop-offs must also be made using a vehicle as there will be no pedestrian access.

If you are unable to attend the drop-off day, mattresses can be taken to the Cessnock Waste Management Centre for disposal for a fee of $33.
