Cessnock Library has partnered with the Cessnock Historical Society to host a free family history workshop aimed at researching your ancestor’s occupations.

The workshop will be hosted by professional genealogists Laurie and Lorraine Turtle and will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday 19 May 2018.

Interested locals will learn about why occupations can be important, where to find out what their ancestors did, what that occupation means and how to access employment records.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this workshop is a must for anyone who is interested in their family history.

“This is a new and highly practical talk for ancestry researchers from the beginner to the experienced.”

Morning tea will be provided and you can book your spot today by calling Cessnock Library on 4993 4399.
