Calling all armchair philosophers
If you fancy yourself as a budding philosopher, why not consider joining the Cessnock Philosophy Group?
Simply put, philosophy is the love of wisdom and the Cessnock Philosophy Group meets monthly at Cessnock Library to promote greater knowledge of the self and the world around us.
The philosophy discussion group is facilitated by volunteers who plan topics and presentations to help steer each monthly discussion. With a different philosophical topic or idea discussed in each meeting, participants are encouraged to come prepared to join in the conversation and share ideas.
Library Services Coordinator, Rose-marie Walters said everyone is welcome.
“You don’t need to have done any philosophy study before coming along, all you need is an interest in exploring and discussing ideas.”
The Cessnock Philosophy Group meets on the third Friday of each month from 1-3pm at Cessnock Library. The topic this month is ‘truth’, so come along with your ideas on Friday 21 July.
This is a free event and no booking is required, but if you would like more information, contact our team at Cessnock Library on 4993 4399.
