Cessnock City Council is celebrating the Cessnock Youth Centre and Outreach Service’s (CYCOS) twentieth birthday next month.

The CYCOS team are hosting a birthday party to mark twenty years of service on Wednesday 2 May 2018.

Young people and families who have engaged with CYCOS over the last two decades are invited to come and celebrate between 3pm and 7pm at CYCOS.

It’s an opportunity to share stories, reminisce over old photos and memorabilia.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said he looks forward to cutting the cake and enjoying the celebration as a community.

“We are very proud to have offered this service to local young people and their families for twenty years. It’s a real milestone and an opportunity to look back at all of our achievements since we first opened our doors.”

“One of the biggest achievements as a community is the recognition of our Youth Week program at a state level. This reflects the hard work of our young people, CYCOS team and other community groups who make this program so vibrant.”

CYCOS is a relaxed place which young people can call their own. CYCOS has a friendly team of youth workers who provide a range of social, recreational and educational activities. It’s all about giving young people aged 12-20 years opportunities that foster personal growth. For more information visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au/community/youth.
