Cessnock City Council was recognised for its outstanding Youth Week Program at the 2016 Local Government Awards.

The awards held last night saw the Cessnock Youth Week Organising Committee take out the Best Local Youth Week Program 2016.

Cessnock City Council General Manager, Stephen Glen congratulated all involved in putting the event together.

“This is a fantastic result, reflecting the hard work and can do attitude of all those involved in the program”.

“It was clear Youth Week was a hit amongst locals with youth participation reaching a record high of 1800 young people”, Mr Glen said.

The 2016 Youth Week was a collaborative effort between community organisations, local businesses, the Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee and other local young people.

The variety of the 18 events held throughout the week would not have been possible without the contribution of our local young people.

Campbelltown City Council also took out Best Youth Week Program 2016. Congratulations Campbelltown.
