Clr Gorman lives in Kurri Kurri with his wife Lynda Mary. He has had strong involvement with various community organisations for over 30 years. This is particularly true of Rotary where during his presidency of the Rotary Club of Lane Cove he became the Founding Chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Australia’s largest prostate cancer research charity.

He is a qualified lawyer and works as a self-employed finance consultant. Since late 2008 he has taken over the “City Events” column for the Cessnock/Kurri Kurri Independent newspaper.

Clr Gorman is a Member of Professional Lenders Association Network of Australia (PLAN) and full member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA).

Involvement with local organisations:

• From 2001-2006 - Chairman of the Red Shield Appeal in Kurri Kurri, until the Salvation Army left Kurri Kurri. He was also Kurri Kurri’s first Town Coordinator.
• For the last several years, a member of the Board of 2CHR-FM, the Maitland-Cessnock community radio station. Cr Gorman also does two weekly programs on air.
