The youth court support workers are present when requested at Cessnock court to provide information and support to young people and families involved with the justice system, ensuring that young people and their families receive appropriate support and advice when attending court.
As well as supporting you on the day, walking you through the process, we are also able to provide you with assistance before the court date with a one-on-one consultation. During the process we can assist young people and families access other supports and services, provide information about community services and resources that are available and arrange referrals to any other services which may be required (including counselling, education, legal advice, Centrelink etc.).
If you’re a young person aged 12-20, have legal issues or need to appear at Cessnock Court, then we can provide you support to ensure that you get access to legal representation and any other information you may need.
