Works Program

Council's Recreation Works Program includes a number programs that identifies works to be carried out each financial year. These programs includes a Recreation Capital Works ProgramParks Maintenance Schedule and Garden Maintenance Schedule.

Council's Recreation Works Program comprises Council’s adopted priority works identified as part of its annual budgetary process. The Program incorporates projects involving the construction, irrigation, floodlighting and refurbishment of major sporting fields, and active and passive parks and also the construction, refurbishment or extensions to major building assets. .

These programs are reviewed on a monthly basis and is adjusted to take into account available resources, site and weather constraints and other circumstances which may affect implementation of the various planned projects. The aim of the programs is to demonstrate a planned, structured implementation of the funded capital works throughout the year using contractors and/or Council’s day labour staff and plant resources. The Programs are also used to advise the Mayor, Councillors and members of the public on the currently proposed timing and duration of construction activities relating to projects included in the program.
