  • Draft Climate Change Policy to go on public exhibition
    In an effort to address the changing climate affecting the Cessnock Local Government Area, Council has developed a draft Climate Change Policy. The community are encouraged to provide feedback on the Policy during the public exhibition period. The draft Climate Change Policy will be on public exhibition from the 26 February until the 25 March 2020.

Jeffries Park Abermain - Playspace Upgrade

We are excited to announce Jeffries Park, in Abermain is now complete and was officially opened by Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent on Wednesday 20 November 2019.

Jeffries Park offers a variety of challenging and engaging play opportunities including a concrete bike track and pathway, play equipment with safety surfacing and shade sail and a water bubbler. There is also shaded picnic settings, a landscaped garden, lighting and accessible car parking.

This project was funded by Council in partnership with the NSW Government – Everyone Can Play initiative.  

The park will provide increased opportunities for a safe inclusive playspace for people of all ages, abilities and cultures to come together for social and recreational activities.
