Draft Rates Subsidy Policy

At its meeting of 17 April 2019, Council resolved to place the draft Rates Subsidy Policy on public exhibition from Wednesday 1 May 2019 to Wednesday 29 May 2019.  

The draft documents will be placed on public exhibition for 28 days in order to seek public comment, as required by sections 402, 404 and 405 of the Local Government Act, 1993.   

The policy is designed to enable Council a framework to ensure that Council is acting fair, reasonable and in a transparent manner for all ratepayers of the Local Government Area.

  • Council’s Administration Building (Customer Service Section);
  • Cessnock Public Library;
  • Kurri Kurri Public Library

Written submissions on the draft documents should be addressed to the General Manager and will be accepted up until 5.00 pm Wednesday 29 May 2019.  

Submissions are NOT kept confidential. Council releases submissions when a request is made in accordance with privacy laws and the relevant provisions under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. When a submission is released by law, Council routinely withholds contact numbers, email addresses and signatures. Should you wish for all personal details or any information that may identify you to be withheld from the public, please advise Council of this in your submission.
