East Cessnock Subsidy Funding Program

Cessnock City Council has received $50,000 Stream 3 Funding from Local Government NSW. This funding is to assist Council in implementing measures identified within the Council’s adopted East Cessnock Flying-Fox Camp Management Plan.    

The first objective of Councils successful grant application is to “Provide residents with support and practical solutions to better protect assets from the flying-fox camp”.  Council has $11,000 to dedicate to this objective, and to administer in a subsidies program.  

Subsidy funding is available to residents of the East Cessnock area to assist them purchase car covers, pool covers, clothesline covers, and high pressure hoses.   Resident are invited to apply for subsidy funding that will assist them in purchasing items to mitigate the impacts of the flying-fox on their assets.  

Residents will be required to provide evidence to support their claims for funding, a copy of the application form is available below. Hard copy forms are available from Council’s Administration Building.

Application forms should be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, 27th June 2018.  Application should be addressed to The General Manager and can be submitted via email or post.

Applications will be reviewed and determined based on information provided and information within Council’s systems. Priority will be given to residents within 400m of the flying-fox camp.
