18/2014/7: Planning Proposal - 49B Aberdare Road, Aberdare
On 23 June 2017 the Department of Planning and Environment issued a Gateway determination enabling Council to place Planning Proposal, 18/2014/7/1 for 49B Aberdare Road Aberdare on public exhibition. This is consistent with Council’s resolution to proceed with this Proposal at its Ordinary Meeting held on 15 March 2017 and 5 April 2017.
The Planning Proposal intends to amend the land zoning at 49B Aberdare Road, Aberdare to B1 Neighbourhood Centre with a local clause limiting the size of any restaurant or café on the site to 150 square metres. The Gateway determination also allows an option to expand the size restriction to all food and drink premises on the site.
The Planning Proposal is on public exhibition from 6 September 2017 - 6 October 2017, a copy of the proposal and associated documents are listed below:
Hard copies can be viewed at the following locations:
- Council’s Administration Building (Customer Services Section);
- Cessnock Public Library; and
- Kurri Kurri Public Library.
Any person may make a written submission in relation to the Planning Proposal. Any views expressed in written submissions will be considered by Council before a final decision is made on whether or not the draft Plan should be made.
In order to be considered by Council, submissions must be received by 5.00pm on Friday 6 October 2017 and should quote “18/2014/7/1 – 49B Aberdare Road, Aberdare from RE2 - Private Recreation to B1 Neighbourhood Centre”. Submissions should be addressed to The General Manager and can be submitted via either email or post.
