microchipped. We know how hard it is when your best mate ends up missing, but
it certainly makes it a lot harder to locate the owner of a lost cat or dog
when they aren’t microchipped.
you know a dog must be microchipped by 12 weeks of age, at point of sale or
when they are given away in order to comply with the law?
order to help ensure your furry friend is microchipped and not flouting the
rules Council’s Ranger team are once again putting on a FREE microchipping
event for dogs.
It’s bigger and better than last year as we are holding Microchipping Month of May. Residents wanting to get their pet microchipped should schedule in a Thursday afternoon during May.
To get your dog microchipped visit:
• Thursday 4 May 2017 Miller Park, Branxton 1pm – 4pm.
• Thursday 11 May 2017 Varty Park, Weston 1pm – 4pm.
• Thursday 18 May 2017 Manning Park, Cessnock 1pm – 4pm.
• Thursday 25 May 2017 Stanford Merthyr Park, Stanford Merthyr 1pm – 4pm.
the event we are asking that all dogs must be on a lead. Rangers will also be
on hand to answer any questions residents may have on the day. If you own a cat
contact our Customer Service Team on 02 4993 4100 to arrange a free
microchipping by one of our Rangers.
The search has begun for Cessnock’s cutest cat or dog. The competition kicked off on Council’s Facebook page on Friday 21 April. If you think your dog or cat has what it takes you can enter by liking the Cessnock City Council page, sending an image of your pet to Cessnock City Council via a Facebook message and telling us your pet’s name.
