Fraud and Corruption Prevention
Cessnock City Council is committed to high ethical standards and accountable conduct. Council has a responsibility to protect taxpayer funded resources and assets from fraud and corruption and to ensure that its decisions and actions are free from any fraud and corruption. We do this through transparent and accountable decision making, and by open discussions by staff and managers about the risks of fraud and corruption.
We will take action to detect, investigate and discipline fraudulent and corrupt conduct. Council also does not tolerate detrimental action taken against people who come forward to report suspicions of such wrongdoing.
If you have any concern about the conduct of a Council Official, we encourage you to:
- contact our Governance Team on 02 4993 4100 or
