Development Control Plan 2010

Development Control Plans contain more detailed provisions than a Local Environmental Plan.  They provide guidance to developers and are performance based documents providing objectives for development.

Development Control Plan

Development Control Plans (DCPs) guide certain types of development or specific areas within a Local Government Area (LGA). These guidelines are in addition to the legal provisions of a Local Environmental Plan (LEP) or State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP).

Cessnock Development Control Plan (2010)

Cessnock Development Control Plan 2010 (DCP 2010) came into effect on Friday 23 December 2011 upon gazettal of Cessnock Local Environmental Plan 2011 (LEP 2011).

The Cessnock DCP 2010 has been updated by Council to coordinate with the new structure of Cessnock LEP 2011 and contains detailed development controls that support Cessnock LEP 2011.

Both Cessnock DCP 2010 and LEP 2011 must be considered when planning the development of land within Cessnock Local Government Area.

Cessnock LEP 2011 and DCP 2010 are available for viewing at the following locations:

  • Cessnock City Council Administration Building, 62-78 Vincent Street, Cessnock
  • Cessnock Library, 65-67 Vincent Street, Cessnock
  • Kurri Kurri Library, 253 Lang Street, Kurri Kurri
